    Denver LoveMercy 2009 Day #3

Well it's now over. Denver LoveMercy 2009 has come to a close, but what an incredible experience it was! I'm thankful for the opportunity to have served in this event. I praise God for these kids and I pray that his Love and Mercy would be shown through them.

The morning session opened up with Matt LeRoy who spoke of the greatest redemption story in history.

He was accompanied by an OKWU student who painted the story out as he spoke. Pretty amazing.

The Kristian Still Band rocked the house and loved this event so much they released one song that they had never played live or recorded before!

The kids were then challenged again to go out and LOVEDenver. A believe me they did. I was blown away by the hearts of these kids.

What a great night! Sight in Sound, Kristian Still Band and Lyrycyst opened the show with the help of David Schultz (@DavidComedy) with a slew of great covers ranging from Lady Gaga to Black Eyed Peas which threw everyone into a dance frenzy.

    LOVEDenver Day 1

    LOVEDenver-3

Today Denver received some LOVE from the kids at LoveMercy 2009. But before all that, we had a message from Scott Simmons and during the afternoon seminars kids were split up by age and gender to go over some relevant subjects. The kids weren't given a rigid structure, but were simply asked to go out and "LOVE" the city of Denver. The only thing provided were roses which went way fast. So the kids got creative and did all sorts of things.

I feel really bad, but I forgot this lady's name. But basically she runs the 10 year program to end homelessness in Denver. Part of the LoveMercy Convention this week will involve homeless outreach and literally just LOVING on Denver.

    Denver

So I finally made it to Denver, after a bit of a flight delay and it's looking great so far. For those of you who don't know, I'm here working on the media team for this 3 day event. So what is it?

    From Convention Site (www.myWYcon.com)

    "
    - Three intense days of powerful speakers, artists and community focused on pursuing God’s call for their lives and expressing worship for our Savior Jesus Christ.
    - These Wesleyan Youth Conventions seek to bring the simple truth that God’s Word challenges us to face the needs of our world by asking us do these three things. Embracing Micah 6:8 helps settle the dust and the noise from the world and turns our focus toward the important…the eternal. - Love Mercy ‘09 will be a catapult launching students out to live for God in their schools and in their communities. You’re invited you to be a key player in seeing a generation become all that God desires and empowers them to be."

So I'll be photoblogcasting (yes that's made up) from each rally and everything that's going on here.

    From the soundcheck today:

Can't make it to Denver, follow along here and on twitter and get the next best thing!

Getting back into the swing of things...

My, my , my how busy life has been ever since I returned to the states. I've been quite lax in the blogging department and now that I have some downtime I'm working on keeping this updated more frequently. More after the click.

Since I've been back, I've jumped back into photographing portraits but as of late it's been with more of a editorial and promotional twist. This past month I've been working with Mike Peterson, founder of www.MyRawFitness.com to create some interesting photos for his business. These are some samples of the first half of the shoot. More to come.
