    A TOMS wedding?

I found this in my email earlier this week. What do you think?

A pretty cool idea in my humble opinion.

    Posters

Wow, how the time flies. You all must forgive me for my lack of updates; there have been a lot of changes lately. I've moved, started a new job, completing projects and school starts soon. I'm already starting to feel the pressure.

Anywho, I've had little time to photograph lately, but I found some time to shoot these delightful posters that my roommate screen prints for local shows here in Sacramento. His group, Interval Press is setting a new[old] standard for show posters. No more Kinko's xeroxed flyers.

For the first time ever, I filmed myself shooting so you all could see how I work at times. Don't laugh at the editing. I've never edited a video before.

Poster Shoot from Jerome Love on Vimeo.

The purpose of the shoot was to highlight Interval's creativity with color and texture in their poster art. If you've ever been around midtown you've probably seen these posters in places like Luigi's or the Beat.

    Back to Work!

What a busy few days it's been! As soon as I got back, I flew up to Spokane to see my beautiful new niece Lucia (Lucy) Addison Love. I can't believe I'm an uncle! So strange!

While I was up there, I took care of my cousin Derek's senior portraits. It was sort of weird getting back into the portrait mindset, but after a bit it all felt like a glove. A few photos from the shoot after the link.

I've always loved these shots. Guys like Keatley and Zack Arias have really shaped my way of thinking on the "typical headshot".

This was me just searching for a new angle. Not sure how I feel about it yet, but I messed around in post-production on this one. A little grain and selective focus, what do you think?

Same idea as the headshot above but with no fill.

And just a simple snoot from the top camera right.

    Mozambique

Back to the States. Adjusted to the time. Sorting photos. I've made it this far. = D.

First off, I'd like to extend a HUGE thank you to all of you who have supported me in prayer, finances, or just great encouragement. This journey would not have been possible without you all.

    THANK YOU.

I had the privilege of traveling to Mozambique for the last 10 days of my stay in Africa.

FACT: 1.1 Billion of the world's population don't have access to clean water.

FACT: Clean water improves not only the quality of life for its recipients, but increases life span.

FACT: We are doing something to reduce that first number and increase the second.

Together, we're making the lives of mothers a little brighter.

or we can brighten the future of these kids.

    More after the link.

Beginning 8 July 2009, VOXUnited began drilling 1 of 5 planned wells in rural villages of northern, Mozambique.

Just to give you an idea.

This is what the beginning looked like.

A beginning of a new future. A future where kids can live far removed from diseases like dysentery, diarrhea, dehydration and hepatitis A.

Where more than 1 in 5 kids can make it past age 5 and grow old.

So this is the end of Africa for me. For now..... Back to the comforts that we all take for granted. I'll go a bit deeper into Mozambique in the coming days, this was just a primer.

For more information on how you can get involved with bringing clean, healthy water to Southern Africa. Check this out.
